Professional Writing Portfolio

The goal of this assignment was to write a paper in the format of a journal article. For the purpose of my topic and what I wanted to convey, I chose to write my article in the format of a scientific explainer. This paper has a similar topic to my Literature Review paper. This assignment was also completed in the Advanced Writing for the Scientific Disciplines course. This article is written for the layman reader, so its main purpose is to inform the audience. For this article I pulled a lot of research from smaller foundations and organizations that pertained to the topic of electromagnetic senses in marine organisms. Lots of these focused on the shark exclusion barrier and shark conservation overall. I enjoyed every aspect of writing this article and doing the research opened my eyes to other marine biologists who are working every day to protect these animals.
